🛠️ From Rust to Revival: Transforming an Old Gas Station into a Local Landmark

How Taylor Station is Reimagining What "Community Space" Can Be in Taylors, SC

There’s a quiet kind of magic in seeing what something could be — especially when what’s in front of you looks forgotten.

At the intersection of potential and creativity sits an old 7-Eleven gas station and six underused acres of land in Taylors, South Carolina. For years, this space sat idle — its pumps long gone, its windows dusty, its story seemingly finished.

But for us, it was the perfect starting point.

Instead of tearing it down or selling it off, we decided to breathe life back into it. We envisioned a place where families could gather, friends could meet, and kids could play. A place rooted in the past, but designed for the future.

That place is Taylor Station — and it’s becoming a reality.

🔍 Why an Old Gas Station?

Gas stations are rarely thought of as beautiful spaces. They’re utilitarian by design. But that’s part of what makes this project so exciting. Because when you take something overlooked and reimagine it with intention, the results are powerful.

Adaptive reuse — the concept of taking an existing structure and transforming it for a new purpose — is both environmentally sustainable and culturally meaningful. It keeps part of a town’s history intact while serving a new generation with something useful and beautiful.

By renovating the 7-Eleven building and repurposing the surrounding land, we’re not just creating a destination — we’re telling a story of local resilience, resourcefulness, and pride.

🌟 The Vision for Taylor Station

Taylor Station is more than a single concept — it’s a collection of thoughtfully planned experiences coming together in one cohesive space. It’s designed to meet a range of community needs, all on one site:

✅ A 36-Hole Miniature Golf Course

Yes, 36 holes. Two full courses designed for all ages, skill levels, and occasions — from laid-back weekend fun to school outings and date nights. It’s more than a game; it’s an experience meant to draw people in and bring smiles out.

✅ A Pizza Restaurant in the Original 7-Eleven Building

We’re completely transforming the old gas station into a locally run pizza restaurant. It’ll offer fresh, high-quality ingredients, indoor seating, and just enough of that nostalgic “old-meets-new” charm to make every visit feel like something special.

✅ A Large Outdoor Pavilion

Think shaded seating, local food trucks, live music, and casual hangouts. The pavilion is designed to be the social heartbeat of Taylor Station — a space where events happen naturally and memories are made regularly.

✅ A Safe, Fenced-In Playground

Built with families in mind, this playground gives kids the freedom to explore and play while parents enjoy their meals or conversations nearby. It’s a space where everyone gets to relax and enjoy the moment.

✅ Walkways, Trails & Native Landscaping

Tying the property together are inviting walking paths, community gathering spots, and natural elements that enhance the feel of a true local park.

🧭 More Than a Project — A Purpose

The revitalization of this old gas station isn’t just a commercial development. It’s a community-first project with a deeper purpose.

In a time when many small towns are losing their unique identities to chain stores and cookie-cutter developments, Taylor Station is going against the grain. We’re building something that celebrates local flavor, encourages social connection, and invites people to stay — not just stop in.

Taylors is growing. Families are moving in. Businesses are expanding. But with that growth comes a challenge: how do we keep the heart of the town intact while evolving to meet new needs?

Projects like this are one answer.

🔗 Connected to a Bigger Vision

Taylor Station isn’t a standalone idea. It’s part of a larger redevelopment movement happening in the Taylors Main Street corridor. We're working to create walkable connections between housing, businesses, and entertainment spaces — creating a true “live, work, and play” district.

In the coming years, we envision walking trails connecting Taylor Station to nearby neighborhoods, additional community spaces, and more locally driven projects that work in harmony.

This isn't just about where people go — it's about how they live when they get there.

📈 The Case for Investing in Community

We believe that the best investment isn’t just in real estate — it’s in relationships. In shared spaces. In hometowns that feel like home.

That’s why this project is backed by community capital — and why we’re inviting others to be part of it. Whether you're a neighbor, a local business, or someone who believes in building joyful, connected places, there's a role for you to play.
